Truck crashed into building and several cars in singleton

A reportedly stolen truck has crashed into a building and multiple cars in the Hunter region Wednesday morning.

NSW Police told Daily Mail Australia the accident occurred on George Street at Singleton.

The truck burst into flames when it crashed into four cars leaving one person trapped and in a critical condition, according to 9 News.

Huge blankets of black smoke can be seen and one witness reportedly said there was a ‘huge fireball’ with cars ‘all over the road’.

It is believed the driver may have been involved in a police chase after stealing the truck from a BP service station in Murrurundi early Wednesday morning while the owner was paying for fuel, according to The Singleton Argus.

The truck was full of mushroom compost and was bound for Tamworth.

The New England Highway is closed in both directions.

More to come.
