Assouline Co-Founders Presented with Art de Vivre Award

Co-founders of Assouline Publishing, Martine and Prosper Assouline, will be presented with the French Institute Alliance Française’s (FIAF) third annual Art de Vivre Award on June 6, 2016, at a gala reception.

The award was established in 2014 and recognizes influential leaders from the luxury, food, wine and fashion industries for their outstanding contributions to the promotion of the French art of living.

Assouline Publishing is best known for its selection of coffee table books that are themselves works of art. The independent publishing house has more than 1,400 titles devoted to photography, art, culture, fashion and living.

The company has grown into a global brand with stores in New York, London, Istanbul, Mexico City and Seoul, and most recently has expanded beyond books working with top perfumers on a line a line of scented candles, with Goyard for a book trunk and with Chanel on a quilted leather slipcase.

“With their superb visual taste, Prosper and Martine Assouline have articulated a global language of style, sophistication and savoir vivre,” said FIAF president Marie-Monique Steckel. “FIAF is incredibly proud to honor two tastemakers whose iconic books resonate worldwide, span past and present, and illuminate our lives with beauty and inspiration.”

The events will begin with a cocktail reception at the FIAF Gallery in New York City and then onto the French restaurant La Bilboquet for dinner. The award will be presented by François Chateau, a partner in Dentons’ New York office and former vice chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Lycée Français de New York.
