Bag yourself a dream holiday home – for £2.50!

For less than the price of a cheese sandwich, a luxury holiday home in the wilds of Africa could be yours.

Mtwapa Beach Villa in Mombasa, Kenya, is being raffled by its current owner, 54-year-old Robin James, after a lack of sale success on the open market.

James, who was made redundant in 2014, told MailOnline Travel that he is aiming to sell more than 500,000 £2.50 tickets in a bid to recoup his money back on the estate and relocate back to the UK.

The businessman found the plot of land for his dream holiday home more than a decade ago after doing lots of research.

He and his wife liked the fact that it was close to the beach and there was lots to do in the area.

In 2007, they worked with an architect to bring their design ideas to life and the property took two years to build.

Part of the proceeds will also go to three charities, including an orphanage that James has supported since it started 11 years ago.

James concluded: ‘It’s a one off opportunity to own something pretty special for £2.50, a group of friends clubbing together would get a great deal from this as would a family – a great stocking filler for Christmas.’
